About the Author

Louis Stanislaw is a man with a mission: to erase the ignorance and stigma that for centuries have accompanied epilepsy and those who struggle with it almost every day of their lives.

Louis studied filmmaking at Oberlin College and at the prestigious International Film School of Paris. He then produced and directed the ground-breaking documentary film, "On The Edge, Living With Epilepsy," broadcast across America and abroad by PBS.

Voices from The Heart represents the next major step in Louis's campaign. With his own illustrations, and with ringing endorsements from leading authorities on epilepsy, Louis's book is already being hailed as a unique contribution to the understanding of epilepsy and as a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.

Reviews

"Voices from the Heart takes epilepsy out of the shadows and shines the light of understanding and humanity on it from many different perspectives--both personal and medical. Anyone whose life has been touched by epilepsy--through family, friend, or self--will find in this vital book an immense trove of wisdom, revelation, awareness, acceptance, and compassion. I highly, highly recommend it." --Douglas Preston, New York Times bestselling author
