About the Author

Over a 20-year career as an award-winning editor and travel journalist, Josh Roberts has written for publications as varied as USA Today, The Boston Sunday Globe, The Huffington Post, and Business Insider. By day, he's the Senior Executive Editor of SmarterTravel, a TripAdvisor Company. At night (and often very early in the morning) he writes the kinds of middle-grade and young adult novels he always wanted to read when he was a kid. Josh is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). His travel photography can be seen in Britain and Ireland's Best Wild Places, published by Penguin UK. If we're being honest, his life goals haven't changed much since he was young: He still wants to be Indiana Jones when he grows up.

Reviews

"This atmospheric debut is a nail-biting story of local history, sinister magic, and what it means to be a true friend. With narrow escapes, rising tension, and secrets aplenty, good luck trying to put this one down!" -Diane Magras, The Mad Wolf's Daughter (New York Times Editors' Choice)"... a delightfully spooky, action-packed adventure full of heart, friendship, and page-turning suspense! With vibes similar to Goosebumps and Roald Dahl's The Witches, it's the perfect for readers who love to read under the covers with a flashlight! A truly magical debut!" -Kim Chance, Keeper & Seeker"A spellbinding story of friendship, teamwork, and the perils of coming of age in a modern-day coven." -Kurt Kirchmeier, The Absence of Sparrows"Fans of Harry Potter have a new series to fall head-over-broomstick in love with." -Darby Karchut, Del Toro Moon (Colorado Book Award Winner)"A fun, thrilling read that will leave you wanting to spend a lot more time in the magical world of Willow Cove." -SpookyKidLit.com (starred review)
