About the Author

Sarah Walker Caron is an award-winning food writer, columnist and author based in Maine. She's been writing about food since before Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram existed. The author of five books, including The Super Easy 5-Ingredient Cookbook and One-Pot Pasta, Sarah believes that good food is for everyone and that anyone can learn to make it. But as much as she loves cooking, she also adores restaurants too--particularly ones where she can find a good plate of corned beef hash and lovely fluffy pancakes. By day, she's the senior editor (features) for the Bangor Daily News, as well as the editor of Bangor Metro and She writes the "In Season Now" column for Bangor Metro magazine and formerly wrote "Maine Course," a weekly food column for the Bangor Daily News. By night, she's the blogger voice behind Sarah's Cucina Bella (, a thirteen-year-old food blog focusing on quick and easy from-scratch recipes for busy people, as well as food travel and good books. She also teaches journalism at the University of Maine and blogging at Husson University. She lives in the Bangor area with her two kids and her friendly black cat named Bippity.

"Ask any busy parent--any busy person--to describe the holy grail of weeknight dinners, and it probably goes something like this: It'll be no-fuss, made with ingredients you already own, on the table in under an hour, and magically, irresistibly delicious. Nearly all the recipes in Sarah Walker Caron's Super Easy 5-Ingredient Cookbook achieve just that. Simple, inventive, and made with whole foods, Sarah's recipes prove that healthy, quick dinners really are possible."--Debbie Koenig, Author of Parents Need to Eat Too

"As a mother of three boys, two of them teenagers, 'What's for dinner?' is a constant concern and stress. My bookshelf is filled with recipe books I rarely use because the recipes are complicated and the ingredients are hard to find. However, I keep Sarah's recipes close at hand because they are for people like me--in a hurry and not a chef, but eager to make a special meal-time memory for my family."--Sarah Smiley, Author of Dinner with the Smileys

"Seafood is a perfect protein to include in a dinnertime plan that includes few other ingredients. As Sarah expertly demonstrates in this wonderful new book, shrimp needs just a bit of parsley and a shot of lemon; salmon requires a little honey and lime to shine, and clams prepared simply with butter and garlic make an ideal pasta sauce. This cookbook demonstrates just how easy it is to integrate seafood into quick, healthy, delicious dinners." - Barton Seaver, Chef and Author of American Seafood: Heritage, Culture & Cookery from Sea to Shining Sea
