About the Author
Tom Kelley served for thirty years in the U.S. Navy, after which he took care of Massachusetts veterans as the secretary of veterans' services for the Commonwealth. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1970. A graduate of Boston College High School and the College of the Holy Cross, Tom is the father of three daughters and he has two grandsons. Joan (Chiara) Kelley served in the Naval Reserve for twenty years and was an attorney for various government agencies. She received her B.A. in English from Emmanuel College, an M.S. degree in public relations from Boston University, and her J.D. from New England School of Law. She is the mother of one son. Tom and Joan live in Somerville, Massachusetts, and travel through-out the country for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, of which he's currently president.
