The Goose on the Roof

Sarah Sommer (Author) Martina Terzi (Illustrator)

When one little girl tries to solve a big problem involving a goose on her roof, she enlists the help of her animal friends. Despite her best efforts, things don't go as planned, and she ends up with additional challenges to navigate as well.

The Goose on the Roof features rhymes, animal characters, and a theme of problem-solving. The order of the characters can serve as a memory game as the story builds up and unwinds. Children may also be encouraged to come up with their own ideas for how to solve the issue of the honking goose on the roof and the predicaments created by the other animals.

Winner (1st place) of the 2020 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards in the animals/pets category (ebook), this children's story highlights animals in a wholesome and engaging way.

About the Author

Sarah originally started writing as an outlet from her own office job, but her lyrical writing style and love for rhymes comes from her first career in music where she performed globally as a classical clarinetist. She is a passionate animal enthusiast, and as a result, loves to incorporate animals into her stories. Sarah resides in Illinois and enjoys dark chocolate, sunshine, and Broadway shows.
Born in an Italian city called Livorno, Martina spent her childhood peeling her knees, falling down from the bike and drawing a lot, encouraged by her grandma who used to give her lots of crayons! After she discovered a passion for comic books, she decided to start her studies as an illustrator and later to move to the UK where she improved her skills with fine arts and digital techniques.
