About the Author

Edward van de Vendel writes for children and young adults: novels, poetry, picture books, non-fiction, and song lyrics. His books have won awards in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France, and he has twice been nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (2011/2012), and once for the Hand Christian Andersen Award (2018). His books are translated into over twenty-five languages. More poetry in English is to be found in I'll Root for You (Eerdmans, 2018, also translated by David Colmer).
INGRID (1953) and DIETER (1947) SCHUBERT were born in Germany. After the Academy of Design in Munster and the Academy of Art in Dusseldorf they went to the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Their many books for children are available in 21 languages. Their work has been exhibited all over the world. This illustrating couple is extremely popular with parents and children alike because of their skill in watercolors and keen eye for witty detail.
