About the Author

Born in Kettering England, Ryan lived in the nearby town of Northampton until a few months before his 13th birthday. He moved with his family to Christchurch New Zealand in April 2006. After a year at intermediate school Ryan completed his education at Shirley Boys High School. He then went on to study Philosophy and Classics at the University of Canterbury (UC), also in Christchurch. Having been awarded his BA in 2015 with a double major in Philosophy and Classics Ryan went on to gain a First Class Honours Degree in Philosophy in 2016. In 2014 Ryan was invited to and joined the Golden Key International Honours Society at UC. He became a member of the Executive Committee in 2015, when he also created the "Literary and Visual Media Entertainment" Group (the Book and Film Club). He continued in these roles until graduation in 2016. Ryan has mentored and tutored fellow students. He has also worked for the Disability Resource Service (DRS) University of Canterbury. As you may have gathered from his story Ryan is a lover of philosophy and classics. Reading, on-line gaming, working out at the gym (and of course people watching) are his main leisure interests. He also enjoys a game of pool. Ryan's family, including his younger sisters, would tell you that they are very happy with another of his skills: his culinary ability!
