Man of the Mansion SynopsysI began writing Man of The Mansion to explore some of the insane things we do in society and the insane way that we habitually look at them. This novel is not a remake of Man of La Mancha. I have always liked that novel by Servants. The whole concept is brilliant and I can relate to Don Quixote on many levels. This is more a reflection of my personal experience in life rather than anything else. The chose the venue I did because it parallels me in many ways. Our current social model works I guess, but it is far from ideal. I wrote Man of the Mansion to highlight many of the odd things in society that we do in order to live and be average. I do not intend this as a political book that seeks to attack the established systems in society. If there is any message in this book it evolved out of the writing. I created the usual suspects and put them in the usual setting with an unusual person. I allowed it to go in the direction it dictated. What evolved was a moving story of simple joys, simple beauty and simple pain. I do not condemn any aspect of our current society. This is simply the voice of ordinary people crying out in the wilderness. It is one madman's look at a mad world.
