About the Author
I had many different Religious Experiences growing up as a child and on into my adult life. I read the Bible at church like many others but I had never met Christ. I went from one denomination to another looking for answers. One day in the late 1970's I visited a small church and I heard some very interesting things. A camp meeting (as it was called) was coming up and someone invited me to go, so I went. It was summer time and the weather was beautiful. There were activities and food: I liked that part. Around 6:30 or so that evening a man got up and started speaking about this Man named Jesus in a way I'd never heard before. It was on that day my life would be changed and my feet put on a different path forever. For the first time in my life I learned the difference between getting Religion and getting a real relationship with Christ. I received Jesus as my Savior and was later baptized. Time went by and after losing some people very dear to me, I started going back to my old ways. It didn't make sense to me that a God of love would take someone away from me so quickly. Especially some of those who I thought were the closest people on the planet to Him. Over time, I come to realize God puts people in our path for a reason, some may be there a lifetime, and others just a very short time. 176 It took some time to get things right with God again. God in His infinite mercy was always there waiting and watching like a patient Father. In time, I also learned the true meaning of backsliding. You see, if one has truly surrendered his/her life to Christ, then they can't wander far. God won't let you get too far away from Him. Only He knows how far, far is. I think of King David and how he strayed. And the parable of Jesus concerning the prodigal son and more. Not to mention the fact; when needed, He disciplines those who are His children as any real Father would do. Many years have passed and I'm still growing and still learning. Today, I'm happily married to a woman who has a huge job; me! Aside from Christ, she is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you Lord, and thank you Jamea, for all you have done. Much more could be said about my life, but this book is not about me. I hope this book has been a blessing to you or someone you know. As I have said; much more can be added to every chapter. It saddens me to see so many Christians today who claim the title, but stand idle by and say or do nothing. It's time to go to work. Life is always shorter than we expect it to be. One hundred percent of the credit for any good thing that may come from this book goes to the God of Heaven through Jesus Christ my Lord. To all my family in Christ, God's speed.
