About the Author

Ann Ormsby is the author of two novels and many short stories that dig deep into family relationships. She has also written a number of opinion pieces about public policy issues. Her op-eds have run in the New York Daily News, The Newark Star-Ledger, The Huffington Post,, The Westfield Leader and The Alternative Press. Her short stories have appeared in the Greenwich Village Literary Review, Every Day Fiction, Pentimento Magazine, and October Hill Magazine. I thoroughly believe that the family you are born into and how the people in that family treat you determine who you will become. Family members can either be our biggest supporters or the most savage and damaging critics, but I have found that most people can be saved by one strong, loving, positive relationship early in life, said Ann. The Recovery Room, her debut novel, raised the question of who should make a woman's most private decision and tells the stories of three very different women struggling with an unintended pregnancy. The book is a must-read for anyone pondering the question of reproductive rights. Ann lives in the tri-state area with her husband and is the proud mother of two grown sons and one interesting cat who likes to take her on walks around their cul-de-sac.
