About the Author

Eleanor Nairne is Curator at Barbican Art Gallery, London. Her exhibitions include Jean Dubuffet: Brutal Beauty (2021), Lee Krasner: Living Colour (2019), and Basquiat: Boom for Real (2017). Former Curator of The Artangel Collection at Tate, she writes for publications including The Art Newspaper, the London Review of Books, and the New York Times.
Hans Werner Holzwarth is a book designer and editor specializing in contemporary art and photography.
