In the Year of Our Lord is a lively tale of a well-intentioned Pollyanna caught up in the vicious intersection of money and religion-and the religion of money itself. Sylvester Q. Smith (Sly) wants to be a TV mega-evangelist for all the good reasons, but he doesn't know exactly how to get this done. He gets ensnared with a crook, schemer, and womanizer, Ponzi McGee, who wants to make big money out of Sly's growing popularity by creating the biggest religious scam in the history of fraud. He also plans to seduce Sly's girlfriend Traci. Sly also has problems with Traci, who is certainly not a role model for a preacher's wife. Her favorite pop music band is The Masturbators. She is more interested in having enough money to buy the world, rather than save it. This Glory Train is not heading for the Pearly Gates.
