About the Author
John T. Cauley Jr. was a senior technical writer for Alcatel, Nortel, and other complex communication equipment companies, who spent his days turning "engineerise" into language for maintenance and repair techs. A word detective with a lifelong love of reading, whenever he encountered an unfamiliar word he was intrigued and searched until finding the definition in a published source. When a friend introduced him to the PG Wodehouse series, he was delighted by the social satire and the bevy of new words to add to his vocabulary. As a detailed notetaker, his jottings on the British vocabulary spurred him to compile a lexicon for first the Blandings Castle series and then the Jeeves and Wooster series. After a four-year stint in the Marines, he worked full-time while completing his BS in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas. John passed away in 2016 following a long illness.
