About the Author

Jorge Mario Bergoglio nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina, el 17 de diciembre de 1936, hijo de inmigrantes italianos. Fue ordenado sacerdote en la Compañía de Jesús (Jesuitas) en 1969 y fue nombrado obispo en 1992 y Arzobispo de Buenos Aires en 1998. Fue creado cardenal en 2001. En marzo de 2013 fue electo Obispo de Roma, el papa número 266 de la Iglesia Católica.
Daniel P. Horan, OFM, is a Franciscan friar of Holy Name Province, is a columnist at America magazine, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in systematic theology at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He has previously taught at Siena College and St. Bonaventure University.
