About the Author
Enrique Lihn (1929-1988) was born in Santiago, Chile, and became one of Chile's most important poets. German Marin called Lihn's poetry, "one of the most original and profound expressions in Latin American Letters." Another fellow Chilean, antipoet Nicanor Parra, has written, "There is no lucidity like that of Enrique Lihn." Lihn's writings, both creative and critical, are considered in Chile the most important produced by his generation and some quarters as the most significant in Chile's distinguished literary history.
