About the Author

"Ilona Andrews" is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian, and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.) They have co-authored four New York Times and USA Today bestselling series: the urban fantasy of Kate Daniels, rustic fantasy of the Edge, paranormal romance of Hidden Legacy, and Innkeeper Chronicles. They live in Texas with their two children and many dogs and cats.

Actor and voice-over artist Renee Raudman has performed on film, television, radio, and stage. A multiple Audie Award nominee, she has garnered several AudioFile Earphones Awards, a Publishers Weekly Listen-Up Award, and numerous starred reviews.

Reviews

Staking out her ground in paranormal romance, uber-talented Andrews proves that no matter the genre, she is a storyteller extraordinaire. The riveting launch book of the Hidden Legacy series introduces an adversarial hero and heroine who will be featured throughout. Intriguing, multilayered characters and a fresh, imaginative alternate reality based in Houston help round out the heart-stopping, kick-butt action. Seeing Andrews' name on a book is an iron-lad guarantee of an outstanding reading adventure!

Romantic sparks and a tangled mystery make this a lively, impressive series debut.

-- "Publishers Weekly"

In the world of Andrews' novel of romantic suspense, magic equals money and power. Houston is run by wealthy families with ancient magic lineages, clans who have been selectively coupling to ensure that their houses remain genetically and, therefore, magically powerful...The stakes are high throughout, the action is tight, and the romance is steamy. Andrews fully paints this modern-day world of magic with rewarding detail and reveals the 'true' versions of such historical events as the Great Chicago Fire, which was not caused by Mrs. O'Leary's cow, but rather by an experimenting pyrokinetic. Readers will burn for the next installment.
