About the Author

Rachel Pacheco is an expert at helping startups solve their people and culture challenges. She works with CEOs and their managers to build the skills necessary to navigate a rapidly scaling organization. She sits on the board of advisors for Maven Clinic, Onduo, Wellthy, and Vicarious Surgical, in addition to providing management coaching to a host of other top growing start-ups. Currently, Rachel is the Head of People at Onduo, an Alphabet company. Previously, Rachel was the Chief People Officer at Oxeon, a healthcare venture fund and advisory firm, and was on the founding executive team of the JPMorgan Chase Institute, a big-data start-up incubated within JPMorgan Chase, where she built the operations and people infrastructure. Rachel has also lived and worked in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Indonesia and Kazakhstan, thus experiencing the joy (and challenges!) of leading and managing organizations across many distinct cultures.

Rachel conducts research on management--specifically on power and conflict--at The Wharton School. She is a member of the founding faculty of the Entrepreneurship in Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she teaches a popular Foundations in Management course to budding entrepreneurs. In addition, she built a New York University course for first-time managers that will be required for all professional-studies graduate students.
