Amie Kaufman is a New York Times and internationally bestselling author of young adult fiction, including the Elementals series, Unearthed, and the Starbound trilogy, coauthored with Meagan Spooner; and the Illuminae Files trilogy, coauthored with Jay Kristoff. Her multi-award-winning work has been described as a game-changer (Shelf Awareness) and out-of-this-world awesome (Kirkus Reviews). Raised in Australia and Ireland, Amie has degrees in history, literature, law, and conflict resolution. She took howling lessons from a wolf expert while preparing to write this book. Melissa Keil, born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, studied cinema and anthropology and has spent time as a high school teacher, Middle-Eastern tour guide, waitress, and IT help-desk person. She now works as a children's book editor, and spends her free time watching YouTube and geek TV.

Will Kostakis' first novel, Loathing Lola, was released when he was just nineteen, and his second, The First Third, won the 2014 Gold Inky Award. Jaclyn Moriarty is the author of The Year of Secret Assignments, The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie, and A Corner of White, Book One of The Colors of Madeleine. She grew up in Sydney, Australia, studied Law at Yale and Cambridge, and then turned to writing. Jaclyn now lives back in Sydney with her little boy, Charlie. Gabrielle Tozer is an award-winning and internationally published author and freelance writer based in regional New South Wales, Australia. She has published six books, including the young adult novels Remind Me How This Ends, which was on the Children's Book Council of Australia's 2018 Notable list and longlisted for the State Library of Victoria's 2018 Gold Inky Award, Faking It and The Intern, which won the 2015 Gold Inky Award.

Her first picture book, Peas and Quiet (illustrated by Sue deGennaro), was published in 2017, as was her YA contemporary short story 'The Feeling From Over Here' (featured in Begin, End, Begin: A #LoveOzYA Anthology, the Book of the Year for Older Children at the 2018 ABIA Awards). In 2019 she released her first children's novel, Melody Trumpet, and she is currently working on another young adult novel. (Yes, that's why she still hasn't brushed her hair.)

Lili Wilkinson is the award-winning author of ten YA novels, including Scatterheart, Pink and Green Valentine. After studying Creative Arts at the University of Melbourne, Lili established the insideadog.com.au website, the Inky Awards and the Inkys Creative Reading Prize at the Centre for Youth Literature, State Library of Victoria. She has a PhD in Creative Writing, and lives in Melbourne with her husband, son, dog and three chickens.
