All This Can Be Yours

Isobel O'Hare (Author)

Through all this can be yours, poet Isobel O'Hare reveals the truth behind apology statements made by powerful men--in effect reversing what these men have done to their victims. By shrinking abusers and their fraught stories of what did or didn't happen, what they did or didn't mean, see, expect, or believe, O'Hare, equipped with intention and a Sharpie, opens the wider conversation of necessary systemic change.

About the Author

Isobel O'Hare is a poet and essayist who has dual Irish and American citizenship. O'Hare graduated summa cum laude from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., where they were awarded the Mary Boyle McCrory Award for Excellence in Writing. They went on to earn an MFA in Poetry from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. O'Hare has also been the recipient of awards from Split This Rock and The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico. O'Hare co-edits (with poet Carleen Tibbetts) the journal and small press Dream Pop.

"Isobel O'Hare calls this erasure, but I would call it redaction. Only it subverts that political tool by blacking out in these testimonies all that is--finally--anodyne, to expose the most sensitive information, or rather, to let the abusers expose themselves. Brilliant!" --Jody Gladding
