As a mother of twin girls who still rock afros and puffs, Your Own Kind of Beautiful undeniably speaks to my heart. As a therapist, I'm confident that Your Own Kind of Beautiful will be a welcomed addition to my bookshelf and list of resources used to boost self-esteem and self-worth in girls cross culturally. I just adore this book. I love the theme and the way it speaks to the little black girl who is my daughter, my niece, and even in me as an adult. A great book, every woman of color should read with her daughter over and over again. It's a written celebration of loving the skin we're in. Alisha Thomas Cromartie, Executive Director, Rena Thomas Foundation, Former Georgia House Representative
